2. In short

Zemira uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking tools and no advertising. Your questionnaire answers are not sent to us; they are stored only in your browser. Personal data arise only technically when you open the site (server logs) and — without any link to you — when you voluntarily request a country. If you write to us through the contact form, we process your details to reply (see section 6).

3. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit, Vercel processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page address, referrer, browser and operating system details) to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel keeps logs only as long as needed for operation and security. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; transfers to the US rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023. A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Vercel.

4. Storage in your browser (local storage)

So that you don't have to fill in the questionnaire again, the site stores your answers, priorities and language and currency settings in your browser's local storage — and, for the current session only, the screen you last had open — plus a note of which countries you have already requested. These data never leave your device and we cannot see them. The storage is strictly necessary for the service you asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

5. Country requests

If you click «I'd like it added» for a country that is not verified yet, your browser sends only the two-letter country code (e.g. «MX») to our service requests.zemira.app, also run on Vercel (see section 3). The service increases a counter in a task in our code management system at GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Nothing about you is stored there. The purpose is to decide which countries to verify next (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Contact form

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your message, your e-mail address and, if given, your name in order to reply to you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). The message is passed through our service requests.zemira.app (Vercel, see section 3) and stored as a task in a non-public repository at GitHub, Inc. (see section 5); only the operator has access. We do not store IP addresses or other technical data with it. We delete the message once your request is resolved, at the latest 6 months after our last reply.

7. Fonts and external content

Fonts are bundled with the site; no connection is made to Google or other providers. Exchange rates and country data are fetched when the site is built, not when you visit. Source links open external sites only when you click them; their own privacy policies apply there.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the member state of your residence or of our seat. No automated decision-making takes place.
